Usually, for a 5hs wus the project gives me from 100 to 120 points Now, for a 5hs wus i take 8 points. The problem is not points, but if the wus are correct/valid.... |

It looks like there is a VERY large range of possible credits for tasks in this project, and it doesn't seem to matter how long the task runs as I've seen high points for very short tasks and very low points for some long tasks, but in general it does look like longer tasks are getting more credits. I've been getting anywhere from 8 credits all the way up to 200 credits for tasks recently. And while most tasks have a 4.5-5 hour run time, I've seen quite a few recently with 2-2.5 hour run times. And I've even had a few that were validated successfully with run times as short as 10-15 minutes... |

I get 8 points on the 5 hour jobs (I think this is the processing limit max time) for any task that gets restarted, that is after I have shut down my computer for servicing or whatever. Check pointing would be really helpful. |

for me too for all results reported after 22 Dec 2020 12:00 o'clock (send after 22 Dec 2020, 6:30) I get only 8.33 points and all have a run time with round 5:00 hours before that time I had most results with a run time with round 2:30 hours and round 100 points but only few result with 8.33 points and 5:00 hours run time |

These 8.33 point tasks are crap. If they are valid tasks then the points are stupidly low. It they are invalid tasks there should be code to fix/kill them as they seem quite regular in their occurrence. Although I had thought they were suspended without checkpoints and not recovering but I am now getting them even without any suspending of the task. |

It's one way to guarantee that nobody will participate in your project, I guess... Acknowledgement of a problem would be nice. Even a note saying that you're aware of the problem but don't know how to fix it yet would be acceptable. Ignoring an obvious problem for more than 6 weeks makes it seem like the admins don't care, or aren't even paying attention to their project... |

I have just completed 4 work units that also suffer the 8.33 point thing as well. See Task 2794624 Task 2794658 Task 2794660 Task 2794678 All only gave 8.33 points for close to 5 hours work, not very happy about that. Can something be done about these work units please? An increase in credits would be very nice. Thanks Conan |

I have just completed 4 work units that also suffer the 8.33 point thing as well. Still getting the same 8.33 points for all tasks, not much more than 1 point an hour, bit of a joke with WUs taking 5 hours. See Task 2799442 Task 2799398 Task 2799430 Task 2799296 Conan |

Still getting 8.33 points per all my 5 hour work units, that is just 1.6 credits per hour. I have reduced my resource share at this project to no longer be my main project, the return seems minimal for the work done. I am all for doing it for science but the only way anyone knows I have contributed is by my point balance, and at the moment it is not moving (60 hours of work for less than 100 points). If things don't improve I may drop the resource share even further but if it does improve then I may put it back where I had it and make this my main project again, here is hoping anyway. Credits were OK up till the 11th but then it just dropped on the 12th to a set 8.33, what changed? Conan |

Thank you for the information. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to make any moves lately in the project. I have not changed anything in the method of calculating points. I was based on system solutions. I will stop the calculations and look for a solution to these problems. I will work testing mode for fix this problem. |

When I ran it recently it worked fine on the hosts to begin with. After a period of time some hosts started to get 1 or 2 results with 8.33 credit, after a while those hosts would not get good credit so I stopped them running the project. Other hosts continued to run fine without any problems, I suspect once whatever triggers them to go bad they stay bad, perhaps a reboot [I think I tried that without success though] or something else is needed to reset the behaviour. Hosts that have been bad in the past will start working again when I try months later. I can see no pattern within the tasks that are sent out, a bad task will get resent out to another host and it will complete and get full credit. What does concern me when they are bad is why everybody gets 8.33 points no matter how long it takes to complete. Is 8.33 some default value within the validation procedure that is used ? Is something within the returned results triggering the validation procedure to drop out and give the 8.33 credits ? Normally tasks that take longer on the same host get more credit than shorter ones. Just some observations :) |
