I have computers with far more than 64 threads, but the project only send them 64 tasks. Is their a limit on the server that is only allowing this? Creating multiple instances is a pain to get around this. Please let my 256 thread rigs crunch 100%. |

zupa set a limit back in 2020 for some reason, probably so the limited work can be spread around See this thread Conan |

He said he set it to 1 task per CPU, but their is a hard limit of 64 max. Computers with more than 64 threads/cores can only get 64 total. Therefore, the 96, 128 and 256 thread hosts will only get 4 tasks unless they run multiple instances. |

I changed the limit from 1 to 4, I do not have any limit set for 64 tasks :(. I hope this will help. |

64-thread limit still exist and rising amount of WU per core do not help at all. |

64-thread limit still exist and rising amount of WU per core do not help at all. Yes it still exists and as I brought some of my pc's here I hit it too and I do NOT have any pc with a cpu core with 64 threads!! |

I am running a 4 core computer and I am running into "reached the limit of tasks in progress." I am also seeing tasks being returned from my computer but the server still thinks they are in progress. But these seem to correct themselves in time. It is definitely related as these tasks are in batches of 4, and I wont get any new tasks until the server resolves itself. It feels like the change from 1 to 4 stated by zupa is now 4 for the computer not 4 per thread. |

I don't know what I'm talking about, and might just prove it. Look through your Boinc event log and see if tasks are failing. Perhaps the server thinks you've gone bad and won't waste it's time sending you more tasks. |

None of my tasks are failing...they all are validating. With these new "10" tasks I am still seeing a limit of only 4 tasks for my computer. As a result Boinc spends more time on my other projects and not on Gaia. Could we get the limit to at least two tasks per thread? |

So annoying that I can't even fully utilize my 128 thread and 256 thread EPYCs on this project. |

The 1 work unit per core (on lower than 64 core machines) has been lifted and I now have more than 24 or 32 work units on my 24 thread and 32 thread machines. Should slow down the number of times the server is contacted as well. Thanks zupa for doing this. Conan Tasks in progress on the server have gone from 1,100 to 9,400 in progress. |

Yes, much better. Now I can crunch them on all threads! |
