Hi , I have a 64bit Linux server Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz [Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 6] (2 processors) 2GB memory Linux Debian Debian GNU/Linux 12 (bookworm) [6.1.0-23-amd64|libc 2.36] It always errors when given a 4_gaia task. I can customise which projects I accept and omit 4, but it would be better to understand why ? Are there GPU or large memory requirements for this application ? If so it would be good to understand what they were <core_client_version>7.20.5</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> process exited with code 195 (0xc3, -61)</message> <stderr_txt> 01:00:56 (3969): wrapper (7.15.26016): starting 01:00:56 (3969): wrapper (7.15.26016): starting 01:00:56 (3969): wrapper: running ../../projects/gaiaathome.eu_gaiaathome/4_gaia@home[20241130.0949]_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu () 01:00:57 (3969): 4_gaia@home[20241130.0949] exited; CPU time 0.002699 01:00:57 (3969): app exit status: 0xb 01:00:57 (3969): called boinc_finish(195) </stderr_txt> ]]> |

pretty sure it's because your CPU is too old. the only other person I've seen that could run _6 but not _4 also had a very old Core2 era CPU. this CPU lacks many modern CPU features like SSE4 and AVX. it seems that _4 uses some of these features but _6 does not, which is why that one works for you. |

Thanks, that certainly would explain it. Better not try my Pentium 4 Linux server :) , though I see only 64 bit apps are supported. It still runs WCG & einstein tasks |
